Can you believe it is almost time to be wild and free and ride that beautiful wave again. Across the three-night weekender there’ll be the usual comfy caravan park camping experience, the great range of well-priced premium quality food and booze, the 24hr cinema programme, the huge salt pond for floating, our 110m long prehistoric granite friend Wave Rock, the late night speakeasy, the late night miniature nightclub, yoga, the Lizard Bus shuttle stage and of course at the heart of the festival is an AMAZING and eclectic music programme. As usual as we have hand-picked the best and most crucial artists regardless of fashion, airplay or chart success from around Australia and the world covering rock, disco, hip-hop, jazz, funk, soul, pop, punk, country, psych, blues, reggae, folk, cock rock and more. This year includes

MISS BLANKS | TEX DON & CHARLIE | SHONEN KNIFE (JAPAN) | ORB | HAT FITZ & CARA | TESKEY BROTHERS | OLD BLOOD | JAZZ PARTY | ROLLING BLACKOUT COASTAL FEVER | SOUKOUSS INTERNATIONALE | SUNSHINE BROTHERS | STELLA DONNELLY | SPACEY JANE | MOOKHI | SEX ON TOAST | FELICITY GROOM | CHILDSAINT | MOONLOVER | RANDA & THE SOUL KINGDOM | SOUTHERN RIVER BAND | NATHAN J | SMALL MOTORS | BLIND TIGER BOOGIE BOX | TULPA and so much more.

Expect respect, quality, generosity and thoughtfulness with everything you will be able to see, hear and do.

As usual capacity is limited to the same sweet spot we know works and feels right. We know for certain that whatever politics or economics or the big smoke has taken out of you during the year that the Wave Rock Weekender will help you take it back. Let’s leave our troubles behind and be reunited in this special place for good times and good people we can rely on.

FILM & VISUALS

As usual our film guru has been hand selecting major, indie and homemade movies from Australia and around the world to keep our cinema bus screen rolling all weekend.
Themes around music, the desert, the environment, community, DIY and craftivism dominate and feel just right out there on the edge of the outback.
We also have TUPLA projecting visuals on the rock with a cosmic soundtrack late night Saturday & Sunday

ACTIVITIES

If you like staying active or actively relaxing we have a good mix of stuff to do including swimming/floating in the super salty gypsum salt pond, dancing, morning yoga (Sat/Sun morning), freestyle and marked bush walks, rock scrambling, cycling, heavy petting and massage.
Bring telescopes/binoculars/cameras/painting and drawing stuff as required if you like photography, birds, astronomy, drawing or painting – Hyden is one of the best areas in Australia for all these things.
